Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 12, 2025
1. Summary
We collect the minimum personal information needed to operate QuarkDownloader. Files you process through the service are temporarily stored on Cloudflare for up to 7 days, then automatically deleted. We do not sell personal data, and we do not make your files public. We use Google Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand site usage, and we use Stripe and Paddle to process payments.
2. Data controller
The provider of QuarkDownloader is the controller of personal data processed in connection with the service.
3. Information we collect
a. Links you provide and files we retrieve: We process the URLs you submit, then retrieve the referenced files to deliver the service. Retrieved files are temporarily stored and deleted within 7 days.
b. Contact details you provide: If you request receipts or notifications, we collect your email address to send transactional messages, for example download links, receipts, or service notices.
c. Transaction information: When you purchase paid services, Stripe or Paddle collects billing details such as email, payment method details, transaction amounts, currency, country or region, and risk or fraud signals. We receive limited information necessary for order fulfillment, receipts, and compliance.
d. Usage data and device data: We use Google Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to collect usage metrics such as page views, session duration, approximate location based on IP, device and browser information, and performance metrics.
e. Logs and diagnostics: Our systems may log IP addresses, request headers, error diagnostics, and timestamps for security and troubleshooting.
4. How we use information
We use information to provide and operate the service, including temporary storage and delivery of files, to process payments and issue receipts, to monitor performance and improve reliability and security, to analyze aggregated usage to improve features and content, and to comply with legal obligations including tax, accounting, and fraud prevention.
5. Legal bases for processing (EEA and UK users)
We rely on contract to provide the service you request, legitimate interests to secure and improve the service, to fight fraud, and to measure basic usage, consent where analytics or cookies require consent under local law, and legal obligations to meet record keeping, tax, and regulatory requirements.
6. Retention
Files are stored on Cloudflare for up to 7 days, then automatically deleted. Transaction records are retained for the period required by tax and accounting laws. Logs are retained for a limited time necessary for security, abuse prevention, and diagnostics.
7. Sharing of information
We do not sell personal data. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the service, for example Cloudflare for hosting and storage, payment processors Stripe and Paddle to handle transactions, an email delivery provider used to send transactional messages such as receipts and download notifications, analytics providers Google Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand site usage, and professional advisors and authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety. We restrict access to retrieved files to the user who initiated the request, and we do not publish or make your files public.
8. International transfers
Our providers may process data in multiple countries. When we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms as required by law.
9. Security
We apply technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure deletion workflows for temporary file storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, delete, correct, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where applicable. To exercise rights, contact support@quarkdownloader.com. We will respond as required by law.
11. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies or similar technologies for analytics and basic site functionality. Where required, we will seek your consent. You can manage cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect site performance.
12. Children
QuarkDownloader is not directed to children under 13, or a higher age where local law sets a different threshold. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
13. Third party links and services
Our site may link to third party sites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on our site and change the effective date.
